random thoughts

I finally managed to buy the October/November Stampers Sampler. I let my subscription run out a while ago-- and didn't take them up on their offer for a free magazine. I like getting the postcards in the mail.

In any case, I have an A Muse card published on page 11.

...

In other news, I found this super cool. CHA is going to display indie crafts!

Wave coasters

I made these four coasters last night to give to friends to congratulate them on their engagement. Sorry for the glare on the photos. I guess the glaze I have on the tiles hadn't fully dried yet.

on burning CDs

Well, I created a mixed CD and burned it yesterday. But of course, I needed to create a cool cover!

And here's the inside.

Unusual color combos

I'm playing around with different color combos-

green, white & black
orange & gray
purple & gray
yellow, gray & green

Yes, I'm in a gray mood...not a bad thing, believe it or not!

Some recent cards

Here are three cards I made recently that I really like. Next blog entry will be a color series.

We may have a winner!

The one with all the palm trees has been selected as the final design! My friend liked that one best for her new address cards. Who knew I had so many palm tree rubber stamps? :)

Journal pages

I'm very bad at art journaling but I thought if I just make loose collage pages and then journal on them...perhaps eventually binding them, we might have something here!

No Hostage

I bought these round and scalloped cards (not shown) from Paper Source and I'm finally using them!

we've moved postcards

I got a commission for some "beachy" new address cards. I'm waiting to hear feedback from the commission but I rather like my two seahorsie ones.

testing...ATCs

Let's see if this works now!

baby shower

I made 30 of these card with the sleeping baby for my friend's shower.

Then I made 30 of these teddy bear cards for her thank you cards. I left them blank so she could use them for birth announcements if she wanted.

I also made 20 of these that I'm debating turning into little books or a wall hanging. I can't seem to find my regular hole punch. Gah. It took over 6 hours of stamping and I'm still not done. But I will have to finish them up soon since the shower is on Sunday.

new year, new stuff...

er, soon. Yes, yes, I know '07 was a bad year for stamping for me. I'm gearing up and changing directions this year. I'll be reverting back to my more natural, collage style and showing new artwork in the next few weeks.

Until then, did everyone see Barry from Rubber Poet is looking for love?

Post New Years greetings from the Rubber Poet. Hoping that the coming year will be creative, joyous, more peaceful and always "poetic" in scope.

More to matters of the heart and soul, are you a woman who enjoys the
Rubber Poet aesthetic, who might want to meet a middle aged Jewish
eccentric and experiencelife in the slow lane of rural Utah?

Yes, This Rubber Poet is seeking a woman to share his bucoliclife in a
simple passive solar house amidst the backdrop of Zion Canyon. I am a
Licensed Nurse, mench, masseurand very nice 56 year old guy looking
for a kind, interesting woman. I live simply, working and tendingan
organic orchard,a flock of chickens and three (outdoor) cats. My civic
involvements have earned me the title, "Chief Anarchist of Rockville"
(population 247)

Confirmed urbanites, Tumbling Teddy bear stampers, anti Semites,
conservative republicans and gold diggers need not respond. You can
contact me any way you want. Phone, fax, email, or send me your mail
art. If you email a photo, I'll reciprocate.
