tags, tags, tags!

I'm trying to dig myself out of the mounds of presents to be wrapped! Here are some gift tags I made. All stamps by The Cat's Pajamas. (oops, except "love peace joy" phrase, that's Stamping Bear)

They were supposed to be quickie tags that somehow got more complicated as I worked on them. I punched out scalloped circles from white cardstock, swiped some Christmas tree green Vintage ink, inked up the trees (there are two different ones), added Twink, flipped them over and stamped Poochie, Sprinkle in a snowglob and earmuffs Sprinkle. Hmm, something's missing. I know, glitter! And twinkling H2Os. And and and twinkle stickers (A Muse) on Twink's nose. And and and...prima flowers with Queen & Co brads. Ooh, better edge these things with ink. And and...ribbon! Okay, better stop now. So, it took me about an hour and half to make 16 gift tags. I still think it was time well spent!

bookbinding

I had a craft day last weekend and learned to make books using the traditional Japanese stab binding technique. I have been hoarding this black, magenta flocked paper but thought it'd make a lovely book. I loved contrasting the yellow binding, the blue/purple interior and the first green page! Sorry for the bad photos. I haven't had much experience taking inanimate objects yet!

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with this book. I won't give it away because it's basically a mess of glue all over the place (that Yes! paste is stick stuff) but maybe I'll record little whimiscal thoughts.

I am thinking about stamping something and adding to the front of the book though! It just doesn't feel right if I don't stamp something I make. :)

It's December and I'm still creating super fast, simple and elegant holiday cards! Nothing says "warm winter wishes" than the warm tones of this tan and copper stars card. The purple and bit of red gives a stylish punch! Get your copper stars from SSS! They're handmade and I just love supporting lovely people like Andrea.

simple stick!

A Muse's simple stick rocks! I created this glitzy look by stamping the dotted block with versamark and then sprinkling simple stick on, heat until glossy (not long!) and dusted it with prisma ultrafine glitter. The whole card took about 30 seconds to make! :) People can't stop touching the glitter! Heh, nifty.

Joy Love Peace

An easy masculine card! Great for the holidays or just a great overall sentiment. Let's have joy, love and peace ALL the time! All stamps by A Muse, design by SLD. The silver is Brilliance Starlight Black. I think it's the niftiest new ink I have! I just love that color. It's much more glimmery in person.

bad swap hostess

That would be me! I meant to get my Halloween swap out to the Goddess stampers sooner...but well, life happened. But here are the cards. Yes, when am I going to get my holidays current? :) I really can't wait to show you the cool new A Muse stamps for Valentine's day. Stay tuned early December!

I love the idea of the pulsing heart on the mummy. I got that grand idea from Lisa Johnson, designer extraordinaire! To give him more of a punch, I used Sakura's glitter pen scribbled on the bandages.

Design by SLD. All stamps by A Muse. Nifty brads from Queen & Co.

ho ho ho!

I love this card. So simple and so fast to do! I used the larger sized clear polka alpha, stamped "ho" three times and then stamped the surfin' Santa on a scrap. Punched him out and added him to the card with foam tape. I think I can pump out dozens of these cards for the holidays. But I still haven't narrowed my design yet.

scans from the last TT

Wow, when did this mag come out? Sept. 1? Okay, so I'm way behind in showing the scans from the mag. I meant to find my original scans but never did find 'em. I blame getting a new computer...

Anyway, here are the scans! Clicky-click for bigger images. All stamps by A Muse and they are my original designs.

pink and brown Halloween?

I forgot to post these- I made 10 of these for Betty Spaghetti- *waves hi* She requested "anything with brown" so here you go! To give one of the spiders extra sparkle I added a micro pink dot A Muse creative candy sticker. Because it's pink, it's not as scary as a black widow, right? Right??? :)

Black ATCs!

As I contemplate what are my favorite things to trade at conventions, I think ATCs are one of my favorites. I created these in a jiffy for an upcoming convention (Carson- anyone going?). SunSpirit Studio is carrying black ATC blanks and neat little envelopes that fit the ATCs exactly!

All stamps by SSS. Be sure to signup for the newsletter to find out the special deals of the month. SSS' new business manager and design team member, Tracey, has selected some awesome deals for everyone! When you sign up, please add "SD" to the code line. Thanks!

Happy Halloween!

What is everyone dressing up as? I was so in love with A Muse's catwoman stamp this year, I went out and got kitty ears! But I'm dressed as a punk rock kitty a la Josie and the Pussycats! I hope I have a pic soon! But here's a pic of my friends and I at a cool Halloween party this past weekend. I went as Velma Kelly from Chicago since it was a Villains themed party.

Here are some Halloween cards I made in...a minute at Stampin' EJ's demo a few weeks ago!

Wow!

OMG. The fab Dana Snyder of Adorned Surface sent me a giant box of crafty books, dolls and music! You are such a sweetie!! I put the two-headed bunny on my desk at work along with the divene handsewn doll! Woohoo, happy dance.

I absolutely love, love, love AS stamps.

Here are the other two cards that were published on page 59 in the latest issue of RSM.

If you haven't checked out the stamps (only on ebay now), run on over!

Breast Cancer Awareness

As I know more and more women diagnosed with breast cancer, I feel the urgency to help out any way I can.

Breast cancer can happen to even young women. It's never too early to start doing monthly breast exams.

On a more lighthearted note, you can dress up the bras with micro dot (or hearts!) creative candy twinkle stickers. These would be great cards to give out to those who donate for breast cancer research.

RSM!

A little birdie told me I have an entire page in RSM! I can't wait to get my magazine. They had told me I had a tag in the centerfold but apparently the page are cards I submitted a while back. I don't know if they published all of them but they are my ex-boyfriend cards. Here's one of my favorites!

The main image is from Adorned Surface, alpha from Leave Memories, curse words from Sideshow Stamps and options check boxes from Keyhole Arts.

I think is also the issue that has my centerfold tag and the SSS ad featuring my ATC. Wow! I'm so overwhelmed with happy stampy feelings!

holiday shopping

Quickie holiday card! To dress it more, color some of the presents, bag and add a twinkle sticker to the center of the snowflake on the bag. I really adore the present arch. What a fun and different design! And I am a huge handbag fan. Time to go shopping!

Hanukkah!

Ooops, the flower got a little squished in the scanning but it's actually a whole sprig, not a prima. I got the cute little buds from Paper Source. I love this style of phrase stamp (two different fonts) and A Muse has come out with a lot of great ones including this cool Hanukkah one. Add a little bit more dark blue and silver for a more traditional look.

boing boing boing

This was another quickie card from the demo. I loved stamping the dotted scalloped line to illustrate the crows waddling about. Heh. Boris, the mad scientist is going to come chasing them off soon when he retrieves his jars!

(design by SLD, stamps by A Muse)

White leather

I think it was in Clan of the Cave Bear where Ayla has an outfit in white leather. Or maybe it was in one of the later books. But whatever it is, that is my excuse for the white cowgirl outfit. Not because I didn't color her. Oh...wait, maybe that's the reason! Heehee.

This is one of the 29 cards I made during the demo. Yep, more are coming!!!

Prancer's a'coming!

(oops, I don't know what that is scanned onto Prancer's face between his eyes but I swear he doesn't have a zit!)

I took out some of my hoarded American Crafts ribbon for this card. :)

I have always loved background designs the best. They dress up plain colored cards in a jiffy! And your design will be unique depending on how you stamp it.

Add a red pom pom or A Muse creative candy twinkle sticker to Prancer's nose if you wish but he's not Rudolph. :)

Joy Love Peace

Here's a card I made over the weekend. I think this might be a fun holiday design to send to my friends this year.

My goal this week is to take my crop-a-dile and fastenator out of their packaging. Wish me luck!

Penguin Pals

(design by SLD, stamps by A Muse)

Here's another I taught at Stampin' EJ's! I just love the funky flake and cute penguins! Please note I did color their hats and feet before class!

I'm slowly but surely scanning all the cards I did during the demo. I'll get 'em posted soon, I promise.

Thank you!

Thank you to those who came down to my demo and class last Saturday at Stampin' EJ's! It was a blast! It was National Cardmaking Day and I think making 29 cards and 1 tag in two hours was me celebrating the holiday in a BIG way! Woohhhhhhoooooo! Take Ten? More like Take 2 or Take 3 minutes! Heehee! I'll scan and put them all in one folder on my website hopefully sometime this week.

Here's one of the cards I taught this past Saturday. It's a pocket card featuring a tag and there's enough room for a store gift card if you wish.

Stay tuned, I'll be back to Stampin EJ's next year probably around May!

SSS- September Design Work

I started working on a collage for September and posted it today in SSS' gallery. I doodled on watercolor paper with Prismacolor color pencils, did a light wash in two different colors of Twinkling H20s and then added a few pieces including Skoobear stamped onto two different cardstock colors. I'll be adding more to the collage soon but I wanted to show in-progress pictures. Black sharpie works surprisingly well over all of it except for on the heavily colored bits. I might add gesso and start adding more layers. Funky!

See the matching card here!

Percy's published!

Published as "Bee's Knees" on page 13 for October/November's Stampers Sampler! All stamps by SunSpirit Studio, design by SLD.

I love Fall!

In non-stamping news, I'm ready for fall! I'm really into earth tones brightened up with aqua these days. I just bought a hand-knitted Lorigami scarf and crocheted earrings. Dressing around these colors have been fun! I'm going to start working on a calendar swap soon and I voted for mint chip! I hope we go with these colors!

Mummy-rific!

Textured background was created by DTP'ing red ink on the orange crush card and then stamped with the summer release stamp, seaweed. Yes, this was another card taught at Violet's. :)

A Muse Demo

I'll be at Stampin' EJ's on October 7th giving a FREE* demo! But you must sign up with Eva. Click here for the details. And stay for my holiday class afterwards. It'll be a lot of fun!

Here are a couple of samples. I love coloring in Boris with the spilled test tube liquids. I hope he's okay! I got the idea from Janna, the manager over at Violet's Rubber Stamp Inn. What a coolio idea!

I used some new punches and my new mini-scallop scissors last night. Unfortunately, I got a bum mini-pinking pair. I'm going to have to write to Fiskars. They just won't open to cut. Very strange.

* There's a $5 club meeting fee but you get a $5 coupon off your purchase.

Hello, Pumpkin

Another card from Violet's...

Stamps by A Muse, design by SLD.

I love these two stamps! I think this new release from A Muse is my favorite EVER. Although, I'm sure more cute stamps will come into my life from them soon. hee.
