new stamps!

The new stamps are up on the A Muse site!

So, what's your top 5?

Mine are:

(for Halloween)
Catwoman
owl
pumpkin baby
masquerade
Boris!

(for the holidays)
Penguin Pals
Surfin' Santa
loopy flake
tree lot
toy shop

(other)
scalloped rectangle block
lacy oval block
scalloped oval frame
fancy fame
to from tag

But really, I love 'em all! I got a bunch of new stamps and notecards today so I'll be showcasing some new stuff soon! Yay! For now, here's a simple Prancer card. I know I've seen others make his little nose red but he's not Rudolph! Heh. :) But maybe he's an eggnog lovin' reindeer, eh?

trying out these blogger features

I am trying out the blogger feature that allows you to have multiple blogs under one account. I started a food/ restaurant blog today. I know there are hundreds of food blogs out there and probably dozens for LA but I wanted to keep track of my own thoughts. So, for those stampers who love eating as much as I do, you may also visit my GourmetLA blog! Let's eat!

I was a corner-rounding machine last night! I actually stamped all 25 (28, actually--extra for goofs) shower cards last night. I was also a water-coloring and stamping machine. Haha. The only thing I left out was the ribbon and prima flowers. I'm thinking about stamping matching envelopes since I have "so much time on my hands."

Tonight!! Tonight!!

it's a bridal shower!

My coworker's sister has selected the shower invitations! Now I just need to make 25 of these before I go on vacation! Oh my goodness, that's going to be a lot of corners to round! Stamps by A Muse! I'm thinking about using the new Bridal shower stamp A Muse just released. Time to play!

swap received!

I got the SRS patriotic swap items today. Oooh, and some neat gifties too. Love that ribbon and big wooden star!

(and these were the cards I submitted for the swap).

smoochin'

I'm very excited to have almost the whole weekend to stamp and play! I haven't stamped in days! I went to the Magic Castle last night which is a groovy magician's club. I have some plans for the A Muse castle stamp to remember the occasion!

In the meantime, here's a card I made a few weeks ago. I imagine them on a top step, in front of a door. All new stamps for the amuseapalooza release except for the kiss-toe (mistletoe!).

I'm all agog!

Oh what is Boris looking at? I bet he's cackling with glee! It was so much fun putting googly eyes on him. Heh.

I love that grinning kitty and the ingredients jar! I colored them with twinkling H2Os.

The small scalloped circle punch is from Paper Source. Thanks to Jennifer Pebbles for enabling me to get it! Heehee!

But what if we had no chimneys?

I always wondered how Santa would get in if there were no chimneys. I asked this of my parents once and they said, "the front door." Hahaha!

I used the Sakura quickie glue pen and glitter on the snow and the cookies (sugar cookies!). This is one of the cards I'm teaching at Violet's in September.

But don't forget! I have a Quick and Easy class at SOC9 next Tuesday. I'd love to show you the new stamps in person! So come on by!

Back to being SUPER!

I knew I had to incorporate the new super woman stamp with the little super hero that came out earlier this year. Here's a fairly simple card but what I liked was mixing all the patterns from the cardstock and ribbon with the stripes. I love polka dots, stripes and other designs. Sometimes, I go a little overboard with mixing them but on this card, it turned out well because the colors are soft yet vibrant!

Just a note...

Notecard and brand new stamps by A Muse! Now I'm looking for more mini colored buttons. I've been hoarding these for ages but suddenly I want to put buttons on everything. It helps that I'm using tiny glue dots to adhere. The scalloped rectangle is just the coolest! And I'm just so excited to have a neat "just a note" stamp since I work in radio I'm always looking for music related stamps.

I got quite a bit done on my to-do list last night. I have to finish off a couple of swaps tonight, send off my supplies list for upcoming classes and work on other class ideas.

I visited Stamp Your Heart Out and Stamping Fools last weekend and was VERY BAD. I managed to buy more cardstock and ribbon that I probably didn't need but it was way too cool to pass up. I hope I use my new supplies soon but you'll probably read about me using them in about two years after I suffiently hoarded them long enough. :)

{edited to add}

Oh! I almost forgot, I got my SU catty yesterday. Ah, I do like the new design of it though it seems considerably thinner. I also thought the whole thing was very TRENDY. I like trendy but it's kind of funny to see how drastically sets are geared towards current trends. I do love a lot of new animal sets. If you ever look at my stamp collection; it mainly consists of cute animals, background designs, fashion and eclectic/quirky things (besides all the usual holidays, botanicals and "useful" stamps).

Mechanique Hello

Here's my ode to Miro, one of my favorite artists. This is one of four projects I uploaded to SunSpirit Studio today. I've been doodling some lately and this was super fun to do with metallic crayons.

Tiny hello stamp, black crystals, copper heart and clear metal rim tags are SunSpirit Studio.com.

The other stamps are Zettiology (weird squid thing and mechanique) and Invoke (splatte).

See my other projects here!

The Cat's Pajamas!

Alma's blogging! Check out the fun video her boyfriend put together of my favorite kitty, Sprinkle and doggie Poochie! And the new holiday stamps are hot! Or would that be cool? Heh.

Naughty or Nice, indeed!

Let's go to the Toy Store!

Here's a super duper simple card! i just love A Muse's line of building stamps and the Toy Store is so cute for the holidays all dressed up with lights! I stamped the building twice, once on the patterned paper and on once on the card. I cut out the patterned paper toy store and adhered it the card- so simple!

Oh goodness, I need to buckle to down tonight to wrap up some swaps and various other things I have going on. Let's hope for a productive evening!

*waves hi to Scoopy!* It was very cool to meet you at the a*muse*a*palooza event on Saturday. I can't wait to see what you do with your new stamps!

Pengies!

I love these new penguins from A Muse! They are probably one of my favorite new holiday stamps! Here's another card I'm teach at Violet's in September.

Surfin' Santa

If Santa can stay in the air with flying reindeers, they you can see how he has MAD SKILLZ on the surfboard! :)

Here he is catching the "waves."

This is one of the cards I'm teaching at Violet's in September!

*new images being released as part of a*muse*a*palooza! Design by SLD.

{edit- I just saw Julie's and JP's cards with the cool new surfin' Santa- hahaha, we are like the same blog mind! Hmm, I didn't color my Santa because he's fresh from the North Pole and is NOT tan! :)}

Simple Thanksgiving-- sneak peak!

Here's a simple Thanksgiving card. I love that multicolor fiber I added to the ribbon. I think the colors are SO Fall. Wooh, pilgrims! They know how to celebrate a*muse*a*palooza right!

The blue paper is from the only Hobby Lobby I've ever been to in Vernon Hills, IL. I've hoarded it for about 2 years now. Heh. I miss Chicago. I wish I was going to CHA! I hope everyone going has fun, the lucky ducks!

The brads are Queen & Co. Yes, that's a famous scalloped square punch (Clever Lever) by Marvy and the chalk ink is chesnut roan in is by Colorbox.

Yeehaw!

Here's Calamity Jane, a lil' lady to go with the cowboy that was released earlier this year by A Muse. Ain't she a beauty? :) Hooray for a*muse*a*palooza!

You could either stamp the new "howdy" stamp or "happy birthday lil' lady" on the inside.

Notecard and stamps by A Muse. Prima flower, Making Memories brad, Colorbox Chalk Fluid inks in lipstick red and creamy brown. Versafine Onxy Black for the main image. Design by SLD.

Frankie goes to Hollywood!

Sneak Peak!

Sorry for the smudging! I was trying out the new Brilliance starlight black ink I just got. I love the color! You can tell the shimmer too well from the scan but in person, it's SO cool!

This is Frankie, one of the new a*muse*a*palooza images. Heh, I love all the new Halloween images!

A little snow would be nice NOW!

Woohoo, second sneak peak of the day! I think I might finally get it through my head it's SUMMER! But a little snow (or ice cream) would be nice! :)

I'll be teaching this cute little card at Violet's in September. All stamps are brand new for a*muse*a*palooza except for the stripes. Yay, I love the loopy snowflake.

Notecard and stamps by A Muse. Bazzill star brad, silver no-hole mini beads and design by SLD.

I am SUPER Woman! *sneak peak*

I am such a geek sometimes. Heh. I love superheroes and this little Superwoman (new a*muse*a*palooza release) is so fun! One of my favorite animated movies is the Incredibles and of course, Wolverine of the Xmen (or more importantly Hugh Jackman) makes my heart skip a beat.

All stamps, paisley paper and notecard by A Muse. Purple striped paper is Scrapworks, giant ric rac is May Arts. Design by SLD.

Carson Convention Recap

After going to numerous Carson conventions, I have gotten down my pattern. When I go alone, I tend to go in the late afternoon when everyone is winding down. This means I can look at things leisurely without fighting for rubber. The bonus was because I walked in about 3:45, there wasn't anyone selling admission! More money for ink!

I ended up buying 6 Brilliance reinkers, 2 Versamagic reinkers, 5 Dewdrops (in 3 Brilliance colors and 2 VersaMagic colors), two Catseyes (for classes), 5 Palette ink pads, extra fine glitter, stamps from Invoke and Zettiology as well as blending sticks, mineral spirits and 2 Gelly roll clear stardust pens. A nice little haul, I think. I enjoyed looking at samples from everyone and had nice chats with several stampers.

I was so happy to see Zettiology and other vendors who haven't been to Carson in a while. Things were hopping at American Art Stamp, DeNami and Lumiarte. It was also cool to see the Art Bar there as well as see some of my favorite vendors; Rubber Stamp Concepts (best deal on Palette ink pads!), Inky Antics, A Stamp in the Hand, Stamp Happy, and Judikins.

A speciall hello to Alma from the Cat's Pajamas working at the American Art Stamp booth and Sue and her daughter Molly at Buzz and Bloom!
...

Just another until I start posting some A Muse cards featuring the new holiday stamps I've been working on. Can you stand it???

simple baby shower card

This one is for my coworker who had commissioned me to make the bunny and lion baby announcements. She loves this little bunny so I revamped the design a little. The inside reads "take my advice, go for the epidural" one of the funniest stamps I ever bought from Stampola. The bunny is from Rubber Soul and the decorative motifs are from The Cat's Pajamas.

Another Monogram variation

This one uses the Graffiti A Muse alphabet. I love it! Being from LA, you see graffitti everywhere. Sometimes, it's just a defacement of property but every now and then you just appreciate the free form font type.

(I do not recommend graffitting public property! Stamp on cards!)

I LOOOOOOVE this new tiny flowers alpha from A Muse. Here are a couple of new monogram cards.

sunglasses found

I know you've been dying to know where my A Muse sunglasses stamp was hiding. No? Oh, I guess it was just me! Hahah, I'm so silly. I forgot I'm using it on another card for my Quick & Easy class coming up later this month.

This is just a text rubber ramble- no pictures. Forgive me! But I am getting a new computer and will be finally able to upload digital pictures in the near future. I know the summer CHA is rapidly approaching and hope people would be interested in the few pics I have from the winter CHA.

On Friday, I got my a-muse-a-palooza shirt along with my black instructor shirt (similiar to the one in my headshot). So happy!

Check out SunSpirit Studio's front page! Andrea has replaced my cigar box with my latest creation, the tulle necklace! I really have a fab project in mind for July that I hope to get to soon.

I'm making good progress on all the stuff I need to do. Though, I have to at some point make my 5th Patriotic swap card. And start on my pages for the next stamping book swap.

I've been toiling in creepy crawly land making Halloween cards. It's my favorite card holiday but the heat really is sapping my strength. I have about half the cards ready for that class at Violet's in September. I should be done soon.

I have however, revamped my Monogram class and will be teaching a private workshop at the end of the month. With all these classes I'm prepping for, I think I need more snapware. It would be a very bad idea though to get more as I don't actually have the space to store them. I have enough snapware for four 6-card classes. And I'm currently prepping for 10 classes. So, most of the supplies are now in sacks all around my desk. Oh dear.

And my mind is spinning with ideas for Thanksgiving cards. I feel so chronologically displaced between making summer & Independence day cards, Halloween cards, holiday cards and thinking I really need to get back to spring/Easter cards for magazine submissions. AAAAAAAH.

I was driving around Altadena yesterday and spotted a new scrap shop. I'll have to check it out soon. I love visiting all stores for hidden treasures. I think it's very important to patronize your local stores. As much as I love the ease of online shopping, nothing beats the joy of hunting down a particular item in person.
